Notice of Funding Availability: 2018 Cal EITC Free Tax Preparation Assistance Grant   

    The Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) has released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the 2018 California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) Free Tax Preparation Assistance Grant. 
     
    The purpose of this NOFA is to support free tax preparation assistance among eligible, low-income Californians. The funding will build upon existing efforts to reach eligible populations that would benefit from no-cost tax preparation assistance and filing.

    Notice of Funding Availability: 2018 Cal EITC Education & Outreach Grant

    The Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) invites interested organizations to apply for the 2018 California Earned Income Tax Credit (Cal EITC) Education and Outreach Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in support of the Cal EITC.
     
    The purpose of this NOFA is to support Cal EITC education and outreach activities and increase awareness of the credit and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program among low-income individuals and families. The Department seeks to engage established organizations that maintain an existing community presence and trusted relationships; have demonstrated extensive experience conducting similar outreach campaigns; and regularly engage culturally diverse hard-to-reach populations.

    Program Guidelines & Notice of Funding Availability: Community Solar Pilot Program

    The State of California’s Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) has posted final Low-Income Weatherization Program (LIWP) Program Guidelines and a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the FY 2017-18 Appropriation Procurement for the Community Solar Pilot Program. LIWP is a California Climate Investments program funded from the State of California’s Cap-and-Trade auction proceeds through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. The Program Guidelines, NOFA and related materials, Public Comments, Hearing Transcript, and CSD Responses may be viewed at: http://www.csd.ca.gov/LIWP.

    Written questions on this NOFA and Requests for Requirements Change to the NOFA must be directed to Tina Schaffer and submitted in writing via email to Tina.Schaffer@csd.ca.gov by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on August 31, 2018.

    Proposals in response to the NOFA must be received by October 2, 2018 no later than 5:00 p.m. PST by the CSD Contracts Unit in accordance with provisions outlined in the NOFA.

    Request for Application: Community Services Block Grant for the San Francisco City/County Service Area

    The California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) has released a Request for Application (RFA) to identify and designate a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) agency for the San Francisco City/County service area. CSD seeks to designate a local agency that will use CSBG funds to provide comprehensive anti-poverty services to low-income individuals, families, and communities in the City and County of San Francisco. CSBG agencies work to reduce poverty through a strategic approach that fosters partnerships with other community organizations, promotes strong engagement with low-income community members, and provides a range of coordinated programs designed to reduce poverty.

    On May 31, 2018, CSD will host an optional Bidders Conference in San Francisco. Interested parties can register for the event at www.surveymonkey.com/r/WVN5KH8. The deadline for submitting an application is June 29, 2018.
