Disaster Preparedness

disaster preparedness
Disasters disproportionately affect the low-income, because in addition to limited resources, many are aged, very young, medically fragile, isolated either socially or geographically, and often disconnected from helpful information and resources to ameliorate a situation that can affect health and safety. CSD works with the Governors’ Office, the Office of Emergency Services, and local community service providers to prepare low-income individuals and families for disaster and to obtain assistance in the event of one.
